What do you get when you combine chemistry, alchemy, engineering and wishful thinking? At Finnriver Cidery, you get high quality, unique hard ciders and fruit wines. Located on 80 acres of organic orchard in Chimacum along a restored salmon stream on the north Olympic Peninsula of Washington, Finnriver Cidery is at the forefront of the Pacific Northwest hard cider revival. This Washington staple is driven by the mission to inspire a deeper connection to the land that sustains us. Founded in 2008, by partners Eric Jorgensen and Keith and Crystie Kisler, the roots of the cidery began in friendship and farmland. Now, with several thousand heirloom cider trees in the ground, farming and fermenting continue side by side in the heart of Chimacum Valley.

Though this farm was originally founded as a blueberry oasis back in 2004, the resurgence of hard cider, with the inspiration to meet the challenge of cultivating the earth and the science behind fermentation, birthed the cidery it is today. Finnriver now farmcrafts a range of traditional, contemporary and seasonal ciders made mostly from local Washington fruit, along with a slew of spirited fruit wines. Most of their products come from an organic orchard of traditional cider apples on a historic dairy right on the Olympic Peninsula.  While it may be remote, it is well worth the journey to taste these locally sourced ciders and fruit wines.

Their tasting room is open seven days a week, where you can sample their exquisite ciders and fruit wines, as well as delicious seasonal snacks. Before the end of this month, you can also take in some live music to go with your cider on the weekends!

Finnriver Cidery has partnered with City Fruit for the Annual Cider Taste Fundraiser since the very first year! It is an honor to be joined by Finnriver once again. Have you bought your tickets yet?

Julia Campbell is a City Fruit Ambassador.
