Join City Fruit and Seattle Cider Company at the Good Shepherd Center Orchard on Friday, May 20th in a collaborative effort to Save Seattle’s Apples! This campaign is meant to build awareness about Seattle’s urban canopy, the proper care and management of apple trees, and provide opportunities for the public to protect apples. In addition to making a healthy apple harvest possible, bagging individual growing apples on a tree prevents common pests from spreading to nearby trees, keeps nutritious food from going to waste, helps to preserve the biological diversity of fruit trees in Seattle, and promotes safe pedestrian conditions.
Come out from 12-4pm to bag individual growing apples and net trees to make a healthy apple harvest possible this coming season! Bring a water bottle and sturdy work shoes! Sign-up below to volunteer or email [email protected] with any questions.
