DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Transparent apple harvest at Holy Cross Orchard! SUMMARY:Longacres apple harvest and cider press with community volunteers & a boyscout troop!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an apple harvest at Longacres Racetrack — the site of a historic horse racetrack in Renton! The property is home to around 120 apple trees\, many at least 30 years old and used historically to feed some of the resident racetrack horses! If pest free\, the apples harvested from the property will be distributed to local area food banks and meal programs! Undersized or pest damaged fruit will be processed into apple sauce and cider. All volunteers are welcome to take a bag of apples home with them at the end of the event! \nCommunity members interested in volunteering at this event can sign up at the following link: https://timecounts.org/city-fruit/events/46464.  Please note that this event will be organized drop-in style\, with volunteer orientations occurring every 30 minutes.
