City Fruit’s Tree Care Services can help you care for your fruit trees! Services include:

 

● Fruit Tree Health Assessments & Action Plans

● Fruit Tree Pruning (fruit trees under 20 ft, espaliers, vines, and berries)

● Fruit Tree Netting (to prevent pest damage)

Tree Care Service Request Form

By hiring City Fruit to work on your trees, you are contributing to City Fruit’s mission to harvest and steward urban fruit trees to support sustainable and equitable access to fruit. Tree Care Service fees fund our work distributing thousands of servings of fruit to people who do not have access to fresh fruit, as well as diverting thousands of pounds of fruit from going to waste. Note: Tree pruning services are limited to trees under 20 ft. After a pruning job, City Fruit tree care specialists will tidy up by putting all debris into one pile and cleaning up any major tripping hazards.

 

City Fruit’s tree care specialist, Jeff, has a side business called Oliver’s Touch. Oliver’s Touch offers debris removal and disposal. Please get in touch with them at [email protected] for more information about hauling away tree care debris.

Tree Health Assessments & Action Plans: A City Fruit tree care specialist will do a thorough inspection of your fruit trees, talk with you about your goals for the trees, and develop a clear, customized action plan for you to follow to improve the health of your trees.


This service usually takes about an hour.

$149 flat rate

Pruning that involves hand pruners or loppers at or below height (under ~6 ft)

Pruning that involves pole pruners or work above height, with feet still on the ground

Note: chainsaw use dramatically saves time when pruning larger limbs, but also requires additional expertise and increases risk of injury.

Fruit Tree Netting

 

This organic method for protecting your fruit from pest damage involves installing a specialized net over your tree, and it generally requires two City Fruit staff members to be present per job. Some pruning may be necessary as part of this service.


Important notes:

● Clients must provide their own nets. You can purchase tree netting from Swansons. 

● If you are donating fruit from your netted tree to City Fruit, City Fruit will remove the net at harvest time free of charge.

● If you are not donating your fruit to City Fruit, net removal jobs will be subject to the same hourly rates as pruning services.
