Register your trees and make them count!
Seattle is home to thousands and thousands of fruit trees. Exactly how many? We don’t know, and YOU can help us better understand Seattle’s fruit tree canopy.
If you own fruit trees, or live or work on a property with fruit trees, please take a moment to fill out the tree registration form here and tell us about your trees.*
City Fruit is working to develop a comprehensive map of Seattle’s fruit trees, and we want to include as many fruit trees as possible. Having a better grasp of our city’s fruit tree canopy will help us develop better strategies for improving the trees’ health, and be a better advocate for policies that protect the well-being of our city’s trees. Plus, by registering your trees you will become part of the larger community of fruit trees owners and stewards, and will receive tree care tips from us!
*Please note that trees need to be registered only once. If you have registered your tree with City Fruit before you do not repeat this process. Your tree is already in our system!
Great Seattle Fruit Harvest neighborhood campaign
Now your tree is registered but what about your neighbors? Or do you know someone in your neighborhood with exceptionally productive fruit trees but their fruit always end up on the ground instead of being harvested?
Then request the Great Seattle Fruit Harvest neighbor campaign postcards and let your neighbors know about City Fruit!

There are over 3,000 trees registered in the City Fruit database but that’s just a small fraction of all the fruit trees that exist in Seattle. This year our goal is to register 600 NEW trees and YOU can help make it happen!
Current top 3 neighborhoods with most trees registered:
- Wallingford/Greenlake
- Columbia City/Seward Park
- Mt. Baker/Leschi.
The neighborhoods where City Fruit is still relatively new and need your help with:
- West Seattle
- NE Seattle (Ravenna, Lake City, etc)
- Queen Anne
- Capitol Hill
- Rainier View
If you live in these neighborhoods, or any other neighborhood in the city, drop off a postcard at your neighbor’s house and let them know about City Fruit’s fruit tree mapping project, and also about our harvest program. Contact us at [email protected] and let us know how many postcards you want, then we’ll pop them in the mail for you.
Together, we can grow our fruit community!
